Others: A Necessity

“A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
Ecclesiastes 4:12

One of the greatest lessons I learned while on the show Biggest Loser was that I didn’t have to conquer my struggle alone. I don’t know about every season of Biggest Loser, but I do know about my season.

It was the community involved in all aspects of the show that helped change my life. From the trainers and the other contestants to the crew and even the Rangers who were caretakers of the King Gillette Ranch, each of these people played a part in encouraging me and promoting change in my life.

They cared for me and helped me to learn to care for myself. I’m sure there may be someone out their who could do this on their own, but the great news is that you don’t have to “journey” alone. We can journey together, and we should journey together.

Sam Poueu is one of those people who encouraged Austin and I while we were on the show Biggest Loser. It was so excellent to see both he and Stephanie at the recent Finale. He is a walking miracle!
